If you wish to apply for a marriage license in Gregg County both applicants should come to the Gregg County Courthouse, County Clerk’s Office on the 2nd floor, 101 E. Methvin, Suite 200, Longview, TX. Please call to make an appointment.

We will need proper identification such as a driver's license, certified copy of birth certificate (not a hospital record), or passport. We will also ask for social security numbers. The fee is $81 for a marriage license. Cash and Credit cards only, please.

Once you purchase the license you must wait 72 hours before you can marry unless either of you happen to be on active duty in the military. You have to get married within 90 days of the date that you purchased the license.

Effective September 1, 2017 (Senate Bill 1705) a marriage license will not be issued to any person under the age of 18 unless the person obtains a court order.

In the state of Texas, there is a 30 day waiting period after a divorce is final. We can issue the license on the 31st day from the final date. If the applicants are remarrying each other then it does not apply.
