Frequently Asked Questions

Vendors may get on the Gregg County bid notification system by reviewing the “How to do business with Gregg County” and or vendor registration link section of this website and completing the vendor registration process. Vendors will receive automatic bid notifications for the commodities they register under during the registration process.

Gregg County advertises in the Longview News Journal

All competitive contract information can be viewed on the County's web site at www.co.gregg.tx.us, click departments, click purchasing department, click vendor registration and follow the instructions to register. After registration is complete the vendor will then have access to view current bid opportunities and past award information.

Bid responses should be submitted through the Gregg County Bonfire Portal, https://cogreggtx.bonfirehub.com/portal/?tab=login, you must first be a registered vendor with Gregg County to submit your bid online. Bids can also be hand delivered or mailed to the address below – they must be received in the Office of the Gregg County Purchasing Agent by the deadline listed in the packet. Gregg County strongly encourages vendors to submit packets utilizing the online Bonfire bid portal.

When:
Bid's/RFP's are opened on the Date, Time and location specified in each individual RFB/RFP.

All interested parties are welcome to attend Sealed Bid Openings.

Except for Requests for Proposals/Qualifications all solicitations are public information once they have been opened. After contract award, all documents are available to the public under the Texas Open Records Act, except for any confidential information as provided by Law.

Gregg County does not accept late sealed bids/proposals at any time. The time/date stamp clock in the Gregg County Purchasing Department, located at 101 East Methvin Street, Suite 205, Longview, Texas 75601 shall be the official time of receipt for all Request for Bids (RFB) and Request for Proposals (RFP). RFB's and/or RFP's received after submission deadline shall be returned unopened and will be considered void and unacceptable. If mailing the bid the Vendor is responsible for making sure it reaches the Office of the Gregg County Purchasing Agent. Gregg County is not responsible for bids that are delivered incorrectly and or get lost in mail.

Gregg County Purchasing Department personnel are available Monday through Friday from 8:30A.M to 4:30P.M., However, due to heavy workloads please call ahead for an appointment.

Gregg County is a member of TXMAS, Buyboard, HGAC, Tarrant County, TIPS, Omnia Partners, Sourcewell and many other cooperative groups.

All invoices shall be sent to the Purchasing Agent’s Office. Any questions about payment please contact Accounts Payable in the Gregg County Auditor’s office.
